A record-setting year
Well, do I believe in Santa Claus? Most definitely! And I got plenty of evidence in Gulf County with all the generous folks who were Santa’s Elves this year who have made sure every deserving child in Gulf County will have their Christmas Wish under their tree Christmas morning. Remember Sheriff Mike says these have been nice, not naughty and we have more kids this year than last.
Literally hundreds of toys have been donated through the Annual Toy Party at Nancy Stuart’s, the Jingle Bell Golf Tournament at St. Joseph Golf Club, and the drop-off locations at Sunset Coastal Grill and the South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department. In addition, other good folks with Christmas Spirit gave generous donations, the Red Stockings brought in more donations, and the Jingle Bell Tournament raised funds to have a record-setting pot of $12,575 for the Sheriff’s Toy Drive.
Now Ms. Santa (who is Ms. Margaret in the Sheriff’s Office the rest of the year) has given the volunteer shopping elves the list and the shopping elves from SGCVFD, Coastal Community Association and the Ladies Golf Association are out shopping frantically and making sure every single WISH is met.
For all the many people who opened up their hearts and gave toys or money donations and for all the Volunteer Elves who make this Christmas Miracle come true for the kids in Gulf County, may you have a Blessed and Merry Christmas for you and yours. Thank you
