In its last home appearance, American Christian Academy’s boys’ basketball team ran away with a win, defeating Keith, 58-28, on Thursday night.

Hudson Grammer scored 10 points, and, leading the defense with 13 rebounds was David Higginbotham.

The Patriots, 21-7, now prepare for the AHSAA Class 3A, Area 7 tournament which will be hosted by Greene County High School. ACA plays Gordo on Saturday in that Area 7 tournament.

NORTHPORT – Top scorers for Tuscaloosa County were Jaylun Murray with 13 points and Jamichael Brand with 11.

Tuscaloosa County will host Holt on Friday in a game that will honor the Wildcats’ senior players.

Victory Baptist 35

COTTONDALE – Tanner Burrows had a double-double, scoring 17 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. He also made six blocks in Tuscaloosa Christian’s home win. Clay Ramsey led the Warriors’ scoring with 19 points, and Derrick Johns scored nine points.

Tuscaloosa Christian (16-3) will host Meadowview Christian on Friday. It begins postseason play next week when it will host a sub-state game on Thursday.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Phillips 62,

Berry 29

BEAR CREEK – For Berry, the top scorers were Zoe Mauldin with nine points and Bailey Thomas with eight.

Leading Phillips with 14 points was Julianna Taylor.

Berry (12-14) now readies for the AHSAA Class 1A, Area 9 tournament which will be hosted by Holy Spirit. On Wednesday, Berry opens its Area 9 tournament play against Pickens County at 6 p.m.
