James “Jim” Conrad Dietz, Jr, a long-time resident of Wewahitchka, FL, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born on October 17, 1942 in Manchester, CT where he and his siblings spent their youth helping themselves to strawberries from their neighbor’s field as their younger brother kept a look out from on top of the barn. Around age 10, his family moved to Miami, where he would later meet his loving and caring wife, Linda. He worked for Bellsouth as a cable splicer for over 30 years with his long-time friends Tom Nolan and Bill George.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Conrad Dietz, his mother and step father, George and Ruth Delaney; brothers, Gary Dietz and George Dietz.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda; his devoted daughters, Theresa Dietz, Kimberly Boyle (Mark), Rita Askew (Dan), and Lisa Wood (Jason); his adored grandchildren, Taryn, Griffin, Emily, Elan, Liam, Elia, and Brielin. He is also survived by his siblings, Sandra Galeano (Ralph), Bradley Dietz (Jan), Neale Delaney (Laurie); his nieces and nephews, George Dietz, Jr (Dawn), Troy Dietz, Audra Croup (Sean), Ireland Delaney, and Erin Delaney; numerous aunts, uncles, great nieces, and great nephews; and his long-time friends, Pete and Helen Lawson.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Todd Minga, the nurses, and assistants at Davita Dialysis Center in Lynn Haven for the exceptional care and support given to him. A memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. CT at Roberts Cemetery in the family plot.
