Dear Editor,

After my last letter I have noticed several positive things happening in our county, both its government and constituency. It seems the voters in our county and our duly elected representatives are genuinely interested in having a transparent and accessible government for the people and by the people.

I know that your newspaper group covers not only Gulf County but several of the other counties that seem to be having the same issues of accessibility. Would Gatehouse Media consider the public service of publishing each week the official email addresses and phone numbers of each elected county representative so our mutual goals of accessibility and transparency could be better accomplished?

Our elected county officials have a heavy workload, and they need the time to get this done. I am sure they are also are concerned about accessibility and transparency as well, and making their contact information available each week would allow better communication with their constituency.

It is important to remember that each of us has a duty to our county to inform our elected officials what our vision of Gulf County’s future is, so our representatives can act accordingly.

Sincerely,

Frank “Dusty” May, DMD
