AARP St. Patrick's Celebration

The second meeting of AARP of Mexico Beach this year was on Feb. 19.

In January you may have missed the presentation on bears in Florida by Marie Williams during the month. And now you may have missed learning about our turtles on local beaches and their hatchlings from the Turtle Patrol teacher, Jessica McKenzie.

However, St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration, most Americans enjoy, because Corned Beef and Cabbage is the menu of the day. Irish or not, all cardholders of AARP are welcome to share our dinner at noon CT on March 19 at the Fellowship Hall of the First Methodist Church on 22nd Street in Mexico Beach.

The local cardholders will be exempt from spending $5 per person per meal. Breaking bread with peers and sharing fun stories from other state’s “Oldies” is like “icing on the cake.”

Try not to miss our March gathering. Date that calendar in Green for March 19 at noon.

Any questions please call Ruth Hauge at 647-3475.

Our chapter asks that we bring non-perishables to all our meetings to assist in our community needs. Thank you in advance.
