Toys for Children in Domestic Violence Centers
The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence is in great need of toys for children living in Florida’s domestic violence centers across the state. The centers are over capacity during the holidays, with children sleeping on cots and in hallways. Throughout last year, over 7000 victims and their children were turned away due to a lack of space in Florida’s domestic violence centers.
The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a non-profit agency that serves as the statewide professional organization representing Florida's 42 certified domestic violence centers. Toys are needed for children from infancy to age 16.
Please bring an unwrapped toy marked “FCADV” for a child living in a domestic violence shelter during the holidays to the Mexico Beach Welcome Center or the GPM Financial office at 101 Reid Ave., Suite 105. You may also call Susan Magidson at 227-5717 for local pick-up.
For more information about the Florida Coalition for Domestic Violence please call their offices in Tallahassee at 850-425-2749 or contact our local advocate, Pam Martin, at Pam_Martin@uss.Salvationarmy.org.
