Jerry Stokoe Day Proclaimed
During its regular meeting last week, the Port St. Joe city commission read a proclamation designating Jan. 4, 2010 Jerry Stokoe Day.
“A proclamation of the City Commission of the City of Port St. Joe, Florida in recognition of the countless volunteer hours given by Jerry Stokoe to the Citizens of Port St. Joe and Gulf County, Florida.
“Whereas, Jerry Stokoe is the leader and organizer of the group that feeds hundreds on the Holidays; and
“Whereas, Jerry Stokoe gives unselfishly of his time and energy to help others; and
“Whereas, Jerry Stokoe does not limit his assistance to one particular group; and
“Whereas, Jerry Stokoe truly makes a difference in people’s lives; and
“Whereas, Jerry Stokoe will figure out a way to get it done; and
“Whereas, Jerry Stokoe loves children and blesses them at Christmas with gifts when families can’t; and
“Whereas, Jerry Stokoe does what Jesus wants us all to do,
“Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved as follows:
“The City Commission of the City of Port St. Joe declares Jerry Stokoe to be an outstanding leader, community-minded citizen, a role model for many and does hereby designate Monday the 4th of January, A.D., 2010 to be Jerry Stokoe Day in recognition of his tireless commitment to make the lives of other individuals better.
“By Majority vote of the City Commission of the City of Port St. Joe, Florida this 15th day of December, 2009.”
