Pittman Earns Bachelor's Degree

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Amos Pittman Jr. has received a bachelor's degree in pastoral studies from Southwestern College, Winfield, Kan.

While on active duty, military members are encouraged to further their education through off-duty programs.  Many educational programs for service members are subsidized or paid in full through tuition assistance or veterans benefits, and G.I. Bill educational funded programs.

Pittman has 13 years of military service.

He is the son of Amos Pittman Sr. of Avenue E, Port St. Joe, and Delores Coachman of Foxrun Cove, Jacksonville, Ark.

His grandparents are Queen Pittman of Avenue E, and Maddie Langston Thomas of Ninth St., both of Port St. Joe.

The sergeant graduated in 1994 from Port St. Joe Junior-Senior High School.
