THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

LAKE FOREST – A 27-year-old man was arrested after being bit multiple times by a police canine, police said.

At 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Orange County sheriff's deputies were called to a report of a burglary in progress at a home in the 23100 block of Saguaro Street, Sgt. Angel Andrade said.

Deputies arrived and residents pointed out a hole in the drywall that led to the carport, Andrade said. Attempts to call the person out were unsuccessful after multiple deputies set up a perimeter.

A police dog was sent in and bit the man multiple times in the upper and lower body, Andrade said.

The man, identified as Brian Gregory Sciawotta, was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was first taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo to be treated for injuries from the bites,

He was then taken to Orange County Jail.
