Lion's Tale
The Beta Club at Faith Christian School held its new member ceremony and installation of officers on May 1 at the Faith Fellowship Hall. Sponsors Kim McFarland and Vanessa Ryan welcomed the group and led in the recitation of the oath of new officers and the oath of new members, after which they also distributed the Beta Club pins and certificates.
The officers are: president, Lexie McGhee, vice-president, Abigail Davis, secretary, Mary Caitlin Bouington and treasurer, Elisha Vereen.
Members include Tiffany Burch, Coy Burke, Lauren Costin, Trisha Davidson, Allen Davis, Caitlin Godwin, Daniel Jones, Danielle Matincheck, Tyler Sarmiento, Weston Sarmiento and James Austin Wiley.
Vanessa Ryan graciously provided refreshments for the group after the ceremony. The Beta Club is an organization that promotes academic achievement and community service. We at Faith Christian also encourage these young people to strive to find God's purpose in their lives.
FCS's yearly spaghetti supper and auction is now past, but we must say again how grateful we are to all those, and there were many, who worked so hard to make this event a success. We are thankful to Mr. Gibb, the auctioneer, to the faculty and staff, to all the parents, to all those who contributed auction items, and, of course, to all those who bought auction items - and suppers.
Miss Janice's Athletes for the Week of April 21-25 are: Erica Ramsey - K3; Zachary Baker - K4; Hagan Parrish - K5; Bryce Thomas - first grade; Jordan Alexander - second grade; Dell Pickett - third grade; and Kyle Bouington - fourth grade.
