Gulf County holds Health and Safety Fair

The Centennial Building doors opened to a line of people waiting to browse a maze booths offering information on the area's different health and safety services last Thursday morning.

The Gulf County Health and Safety Fair, sponsored by the Port St. Joe Rotary Club and the Gulf County Tourism Development Council, offered 61 vendor booths and more than 20 free health screenings.

The fair included elaborate demonstrations from the Florida Highway Patrol's rollover vehicle and Gulf County Emergency Management's storm preparedness station.

Rotary Club Member and Chairwoman for Gulf County Health Partnership Tina Pate said the goal of the fair was ultimately to create a safer and healthier Gulf County through the promotion of area health and safety services.
