H. B. Henderson Obituary
H. B. Henderson, 70, passed away suddenly on Dec. 11, 2009 in Quincy, FL on his way to Reno, GA., to get a load of greens, which is something he loved doing. He was known for his fresh produce. H. B. was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. L. Z. Henderson, and was born in Seminole County, GA. on October 31, 1939. His family moved to Port St. Joe in 1939, and he graduated from Port St. Joe High School in1957. H. B. owned and operated Henderson’s Produce and Trucking Co. for 40 years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe.
H. B. is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ruth Henderson; one sister, Mary Ellen Brooks of Port St. Joe; his children, Debbie Boatright and husband Mike of Wewahitchka, Vanessa Dykes and husband Doug, Wayne Henderson and wife Marla, Stacey McCall Tullis and husband Harold, all of Port St. Joe, and Gary Timms and wife, Anna of Cedar Town, GA.; his grandchildren, Joe Boatright, Micheal Bryant, Ben Henderson, Justin Henderson, Joshua Henderson, Victoria McCall, Cassie Tullis, Jennifer Timms; and Gary Timms, Jr; six great-grandchildren; and one niece, Sonja Levins, of Port St. Joe
Funeral Services were held at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. ET with the Rev. Howard Browning and the Rev. Jeff Pinder officiating. Interment followed in Holly Hill Cemetery. The grandsons served as pallbearers, and H. B.’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
All services are under the direction of the Comforter Funeral Home.
