Julian Graduates Basic

Air Force Airman 1st Class Matthew R. Julian graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Julian earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Richard A. Julian of Firehouse Road, Overstreet, Fla., and Joan M. Colley of Perth, Livonia, Mich.

Julian graduated in 2001 from Redford Union High School, Mich., and received a bachelor's degree in 2009 from the University of Michigan, Dearborn.
