The Laundry Basket Recycles!!!

In an effort to support the new city of Port St Joe recycling program, The Laundry Basket has made containers available in the Laundromat for their customers to discard plastic and cardboard.

Until now, the Laundry Basket has been just throwing away a large number of plastic drink bottles, detergent bottles and cardboard, commented owner Caryn Reid.

“It just makes much more sense to separate the plastic from the regular trash and take them to the drop-off facility rather than letting the recyclables end up in the landfill,” Reid said.

Reid expects to recycle on average of 40-50 large plastic detergent bottles or more each week.  And as always, The Laundry Basket will continue to accept wire hangers for recycling.

The Laundry Basket, located at 408 Reid Ave in Port St Joe has been in business since August 2008 and is a division of Hospitality Linens LLC.  The Laundry Basket provides walk in self-serve laundry seven days a week, dry cleaning, shoe repair drop off service, wash and fold services.  Hospitality Linens provides commercial laundry services and now offer linen rentals for vacationers that do not want to bring their linens to the beach.
