On Monday, June 23, Deputy J. Oquendo arrested Andy R. Hysmith (53) on an active warrant for Grand Theft and Trespass. He was arrested in the 1000 block of Tupelo Street in Wewahitchka and transported to the Gulf County Detention Facility (GCDF) Eugene P. Allen (27) was also served with a warrant on the same charges at the GCDF. The warrants were issued at the conclusion of an investigation by Investigator L. Dickey. Hysmith and Allen were first appeared and remain in custody on a $7,000 bond.

On June 23-24, the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) executed three Orders to Transport. The GCSO traveled to the Bay County Jail, the Calhoun County Jail, and Gulf Correctional Institution to transport Nicholas A. Pierce (36), Lennon H. Britt (53), and Corey R. Craig (33) to Gulf County for court. All were transported back to their respective facility on Tuesday, June 24th.

On Tuesday, June 24, Deputy K. Starnes made contact with an individual walking on State Road (SR) 71 near Old Dairy Farm Road. The subject, Nathaniel C. Lee (23), was wanted by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. Lee was arrested and transported to the GCDF to await extradition.

On June 24, Ellery L. Dobbins (29) was served a warrant for Violation of Probation at the GCDF. Dobbins was on probation for Battery and Petit Theft. He remains in custody and is held without bond.

On June 24, The GCSO received a 911 call regarding a stolen vehicle. Deputy K. Starnes responded to the call and made contact with the complainant just east of Wewahitchka High School in the clay pits. The complainant reported they noticed the vehicle stolen from their residence and was contacted ten minutes later by a friend who found the vehicle wrecked in the clay pits. The vehicle was recovered and the case is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the GCSO at 850-227-1115, or call CrimeStoppers at 850-785-TIPS.

On June 24, Eugene P. Allen (27) was served a warrant for Violation of Probation at the GCDF. Allen was on probation for Assault and Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLS/R). He remains in custody and is held without bond.

On June 24, the GCSO assisted the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office by locating and serving two felony warrants on Steven P. McDaniel (33). Deputy K. Starnes arrested McDaniel in the 100 block of SR 22. He was transported to the GCDF to await extradition to Calhoun County.
