Community yard sale this Saturday

The downtown merchants have the perfect way to clear up your clutter.

A community yard sale will take place 8 a.m., until 3 p.m. ET on Saturday along Reid Avenue.

The yard sale is a fundraiser for members of the downtown merchants to purchase white Christmas lights that will hang in the trees planted along the street during the holidays.

“We want to make as much happen downtown as possible,” said Guthrie Groh, event organizer and owner of Black Swan Antiques.

The event is open to the public and Groh will welcome churches, area shop owners, artists and craftsmen in hopes that participants can use the opportunity to sell their wares or host their own fundraisers or bake sales.

Those who wish to sell their previously used household items are also welcome.

Groh will also use the event to raise awareness for the Salt Air Farmer’s Market that is held bi-weekly in City Commons Park.
