High school Homecomings will go on

Superintendent of Schools Jim Norton has announced that after conferring with county emergency manager Marshall Nelson, Friday’s Homecoming events at Port St. Joe and Wewahitchka Jr./Sr. High Schools will go on with minor changes.

In Port St. Joe, the bonfire scheduled for 7 p.m. ET tonight between the track and football field will still be held and the Homecoming parade will begin at 3 p.m. ET on Friday, as scheduled.

The game versus Franklin County will kickoff, as scheduled, at 7:30 p.m. ET with the Homecoming queen coronation at halftime.

In Wewahitchka, the Homecoming parade will be at 2 p.m. CT Friday with coronation of the Homecoming queen at 5:30 p.m. CT.

The football game against North Bay Haven has been moved up to 6 p.m. CT from 7 p.m. CT.

The Wewahitchka Homecoming dance has been cancelled.
