The Port St. Joe Redevelopment Agency’s Banner Series will soon highlight the SaltAir Farmers Market, Cape San Blas Lighthouse, America’s Great Plein Air Paint-out, live music, and the annual Scallop Festival.
The PSJRA received a grant through the BP Tourism and Seafood Promotional Fund and viewed the banner series as a way to promote Port St. Joe as a year-round destination.
The banners will be displayed along Marina Drive, Miss Zola’s Drive, Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, U.S. 98 and in the Historic Downtown District.
The banners were designed by Richard "Dick" Henderson who spent 28 years as Principal and Executive Creative Director of Cole Henderson Drake based out of Atlanta.
This round of the banner series is being funded by a grant from BP.
Throughout his career, Henderson received national and international recognition for his work that included numerous Clio and ADDY awards and the coveted Silver Pencil award.
Past clients include Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, Henredon Furniture, Masland Carpets, Georgia - Pacific Papers, Dunlop, Bush's Baked Beans, Omni Hotels and HomeLine Cruises.
Henderson and his wife, Delaine relocated to Indian Pass in 1998 and in 2000 Henderson launched IDesign, a freelance design and consulting company. One of his first local projects was the Guide to Discovering Gulf County & Old Florida, better known as the area’s first visitors’ guide. He was also hired for numerous projects for Arvida, the community development arm of The St. Joe Company.
Henderson is best known locally for designing the logos for the Port St. Joe Marina and Windmark Beach.
