The Tourist Development Council rolled out the 2013 edition of the Gulf County Visitor’s Guide this week. The guidebook contains a streamlined look, new colors, and a cleaner layout.

“Gulf County is wonderful,” said TDC Executive Director, Jennifer Jenkins. “We’re really showcasing our beauty.”

The project took six months to come to fruition and countless hours of research went in to decoding the perfect way to represent Gulf County in the penultimate publication.

With experience in strategy, branding and communications in the travel category, Jenkins knew it wouldn’t be a small feat and with the assistance of a research firm, the TDC investigated what people in Gulf County liked about the area or felt was important.

Social listening evaluations kept up with what people were saying about the area online and stakeholders’ analyses gathered information from local businesses regarding their thoughts on perceptions of Gulf County.

After identifying important brands in town and collecting visitor feedback through opinion surveys, enough information had been gathered to create the new guide and brand.

The vibrant orange cover, a departure from last year’s blue, shows off the Gulf’s sunset. Inside, there are and fewer words and bigger pictures, most contributed by local photographers. The layout of the guide was crafted by Kerigan Marketing.
