Now entering its third year of operation, Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf is currently ranked number four in the country and number one in Florida in patient satisfaction, according to Becker’s Hospital Review.

Not bad for the first hospital built in Florida in the last 20 years.

“Our number one success has been our growth in the medical community,” said hospital President Roger Hall. “It’s been a real journey for us.”

The ranking is collected from patients who rated their hospitals a nine or ten on a zero-to-10 scale in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey.

Physician and Volunteer Services Advocate Paulina Pendarvis believes that the results come from not only the excellent patient service, but the hospital’s ability to grow and add services to meet the needs of the community.

Nurse Navigator and local resident, Shelly Cannon wasn’t surprised by the ranking. The three-year employee knows what makes Sacred Heart special.

“It’s our community,” said Cannon, “We get to help people we know.”
