Hospital to remain open

In the interest of safety, Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf has closed the rehabilitation clinic, clinical offices in Wewahitchka and physician offices in Port St Joe tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 29 for inclement weather.

With expected rain beginning this evening, there are concerns regarding the potential for snow and ice in the northern portions of our county and icy roads in the southern portion of the county between 3 AM and 7 AM tomorrow morning (Wednesday).  The coldest weather is expected for early Thursday but the greatest threat for our area is from the wintery mix that is expected for Wednesday morning.

The hospital will remain open.  If considering coming to the hospital for elective outpatient diagnostics, patients are asked to consider the road conditions and to choose their options carefully.  Please use your best judgment as to the safety of the roads and walk ways from your homes.
