The St. Joe Community Foundation Board of Trustees recently presented Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf (SHHG) in Port St. Joe with a $300,000 donation.
The gift will assist the hospital in its mission to provide compassionate, high-quality healthcare to the people of Gulf and Franklin counties. To date, the St. Joe Community Foundation has donated more than $3.8 million to SHHG.
“This is truly a generous gift and will have a positive impact on the kind of care our dedicated associates provide our patients at this hospital,” said Roger Hall, President of SHHG and Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. “This gift reflects the commitment the St. Joe Community Foundation has to the growing healthcare needs of everyone in this area, especially to the poor.”
“This recent donation further demonstrates the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to ensuring quality healthcare is provided in Northwest Florida,” says Jorge Gonzalez, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Located at 3801 E. U.S. Highway 98, SHHG was established in 2010 by Sacred Heart Health System. The 19-bed hospital features a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient services, surgical services, a full complement of diagnostic and laboratory services, and a helipad to be used by Sacred Heart's regional air-ambulance service to provide rapid transport for trauma or critically ill patients.
A Medical Office Building opened in the fall of 2010 adjacent to the hospital and provides convenient access to primary care and specialty physicians, dialysis services, women’s health services including mammography, MRI services and Sacred Heart Rehabilitation.
