Songwriters to have Blast on the Bay next week

“Bill has been the radio forever and he has so many stories and quips, he’ll talk your ear off. We all sing and talk and tell little stories and quips. We just have fun.”

Shaffer, who has songs recorded by artists from George Strait to Reba McIntire, plays a mix of primarily country and bluegrass. She is signed to a Disney-owned label, but enjoys the laid back atmosphere of the Blast on the Bay, a few days to get away from the grind.

“Blast on the Bay really is my favorite festival,” Shaffer said. “The beach, the sand, I love the location. The Forgotten Coast, it is so laid back.

“We love the crowds there. The Indian Pass Raw Bar (Sunday’s Blast-ending event), it is a place you can throw on your flip-flops and just have a blast.”

This, as the title of the event suggests, is precisely the point.
