Wewahitchka Elementary School News
On May 2nd, the students in Mr. Brown's class were both motivated and challenged by a guest speaker. Michael Eubanks stood in front of this small group and poured his heart out. When he was finished, the students were inspired and the teacher was wiping the water from his eyes. One of the first questions asked of Michael was why he chose to stay in Wewahitchka. After thinking about how to give his answer, Michael told the group just how it was. The kids learned that at age 18, Michael received two letters from the military. Each letter was asking him to join. Michael told the students that he turned down the military after much thought so he could stay in town to help the kids at Wewahitchka Elementary School. He explained to them that we are "all part of a good nation." Michael went on to let all the students know that everyone of them could do anything they wanted if they just put their mind to it. In closing, Michael credited his faith and his family for any success that he has achieved. Wewahitchka is very lucky to have such an outstanding citizen as Michael Eubanks.
