    Bryce Nelson Memorial Scholarship Established

The family and friends of Bryce McKenzie Nelson have established a scholarship in his memory.

In creating the Bryce Nelson Memorial Scholarship, the family wishes to help a young person receive a higher education.

Their sincere wish is that the recipient will demonstrate compassion, understanding and patience, qualities exemplified by Nelson, who died recently in a car accident.

A 2008 Port St. Joe High School graduate, Nelson was a true friend to many and a kind, compassionate, and caring person to everyone.

Nelson's desire was to become a teacher and coach. He wanted to share his knowledge and help others build a strong character through his patience and dedication.

This scholarship will honor a deserving graduating senior who has a desire to further their education and help others.

They will have demonstrated good character, leadership, responsibility, positive attitude, and have been a role model among high school students.

Contributions can be made to the Bryce Nelson Memorial Scholarship and sent or dropped off to Port St. Joe Elementary School at 2201 Long Ave., Port St. Joe, FL 32456.

Please contact Melissa Ramsey with any questions at 850-227-1221.

What a wonderful, wonderful way to memorialize a truly humble and loved person. Splendid! Splendid! Splendid!
