GCCC Offers Military Personnel Fast Track to College Degrees
PANAMA CITY, FL - Joining the military does not need to slow down one's college career, and in fact, today's military encourages all its members to attain higher levels of education. Gulf Coast Community College continues to dedicate resources to providing educational opportunities for armed service members and their families.
Recently, 93 Air Force members graduated with their associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). All 93 graduates had taken advantage of GCCC's "Fast Track to CCAF." In this "Fast Track," Gulf Coast Community College offers military personnel an opportunity to complete course requirements for the CCAF in two terms or less and all courses count toward an associate's degree with Gulf Coast as well. Another benefit that GCCC offers is that many CCAF courses can be merged into an associate's degree at the College.
According to Col. David E. Zeh, Commander, 325th Mission Support Group, 325th Fighter Wing, Air Education and Training Command at Tyndall Air Force Base, "The partnership between GCCC and the Air Force is very important in preparing our Airmen to enhance their jobs and personal development. The fantastic support we get from GCCC ensures flexibility and enables students to pursue 2 and 4-year degrees conveniently and timely."
Convenience and availability are indeed high priorities for students, and GCCC offers courses in a variety of ways to meet students' needs. Full or part-time students can attend on-base during the day, evenings, weekends, or even through online classes at home.
