Kathleen F. Reilly

Kathleen F. Reilly, 63 of Danbury passed away at home on Tuesday, Feb. 2.  She was the wife of 40 years to Navy Veteran James W. Reilly.  Born in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of Salvatore and Josephine Patti.

Kathleen had a Ph. D.  It was her only love, and only job, to which she gave selflessly to.  She traveled the world with her husband and daughters serving them as James served the US Navy never living in one city or country for more then a few years.  This held true long after Navy retirement where her family focus continued on in playing an active role in her daughters lives and those of her grandchildren moving from Florida to Delaware to New Jersey, and finally to Connecticut.  Her humor, whit, and unique charisma was energizing to all.

She is survived by her husband James, and three daughters: Michelle Donzeiser and husband Bill of Darien, Patti Strong and husband Dave of Bradford RI, and Joann Reilly of Danbury.  She was blessed with six grandchildren; Lily and Will Donzeiser, Isaiah and Jeremiah Strong, and Brett Meeks and Shana Boutin.

A private family service was held at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien, CT at 2 p.m. on Feb. 7 followed by an Interment service on Feb. 9 at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.  A memorial fund was established in her honor on the American Heart Associations: honor.americanheart.org.
