PSJ Lions complete $50,000 pledge to Sacred Heart

The Port St. Joe Lion's Club made well on their $50,000 commitment to the Sacred Heart Foundation on Jan. 11 as members presented the final $25,000 check to Roger Hall, President of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf, and Sacred Heart Foundation President Henry Roberts. (See related article A4)

The check is an acceleration of a 10-year, $50,000 pledge the Lion's Club made to the foundation during the initial $2.5 million fundraising effort to support the construction and technological outfitting of the hospital. Thanks to the great success of the Sportsman's Banquet, the Lions were able to complete their $50,000 pledge five years ahead of schedule.  

The donation will be deposited into the general fund of the Sacred Heart Foundation, and will be used exclusively for the support of Sacred Heart on the Gulf. The Lions have had the Sacred Heart cafeteria named in honor of the donation.
