 Parent Information – Seniors will be sitting for their Cap and Gown Pictures for the Yearbook on Wednesday, Feb. 13. FCAT Write 2.0 for eighth- and 10th-graders will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Any parent or guardian interested in receiving “Shark Bites” our weekly schedule of events, please e-mail LCDR Marty Jarosz at mjarosz@gulf.k12.fl.us and we will put you on the list.

Our Black History Month celebration will be held at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, Feb. 28 in the gym. All are invited to attend.

Students taking the PSAT last fall were given an interpretation of their grade on Monday, Jan. 28. This interpretation will help them prepare for the SAT or ACT required for college acceptance. Check with your student to see where they stand.

Guidance will be sponsoring “College Day Saturday—FAFSA Financial Aid Workshop” from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Computer Lab 103, Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School. All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend this extremely important event. College Financial Aid cannot be obtained without an accurate Financial Aid Form. Rayonna Parrish from the Florida Department of Education will be here to assist.

Art - Students from Mrs. Hodges art class have been working on a mural at the new TV station in Port St Joe.Our students have done a super job.  Stop by the offices of Coastal Connection TV and see their efforts.

Football – Spring football begins May 1. All interested students need to have a completed or updated sports physical to be eligible to practice. See Coach Chuck Gannon for more details. Physical forms may be picked up in the main office.

Sports – Basketball and soccer are winding down, but weightlifting, track, softball and baseball are gearing up. Check the school’s website, http://psjhs-gcs-fl.schoolloop.com/, for dates and times.
