General Information

* Feb. 23 – Black History Program at 9 a.m. ET, with guest speaker Stephen Osborne. The public is invited to attend. Stephen is a graduate of Port St Joe Jr./Sr. High School, Class of 1978. He was born in Apalachicola on Sept. 11, 1960, the son of the late Charles A. Osborne and Ometa Hurd Osborne of Port St Joe.  After graduation, Stephen attended Florida A&M University as well as entered into the U.S. Army. During his tenure in the Army (20 years), he served in numerous leadership capacities here in the U.S. as well as numerous countries including Germany, Korea, France, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Botswana and Somalia, Africa.

Stephen also enrolled in the Soldiers Opportunity College (SOCAD), accumulating the credits required to complete his degree, attending the University of Maryland throughout his military career. Upon retirement from the Army in September 1999, Stephen was employed as a contractor for Systems/Network Engineer within the Department of Defense and State Department in Washington DC. He was also assigned to the Pentagon during the attacks of 9-11. After numerous years working in the Washington, D.C. area, Stephen created his own IT consulting firm, providing employees for government contracts, as well as employees with Headquarters, Bank of America and Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC where he presently resides. Stephen is married to Derial Rhodes (Fennell) Osborne of 28 years and has two sons, Stephen “Atrial” Osborne (sophomore North Carolina A&T, majoring in law) and Isaiah Charles Osborne (JM Alexander Middle School).
