The boys lost for the time on the season, but the Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High soccer teams continued their winning ways in weekend wipeouts of Freeport High.

The Tiger Sharks, after wins over Franklin County and Freeport sandwiched around a loss to Class 4A Arnold, are now 7-1-1 overall and 5-0-1 in District 1-1A play.

The Port St. Joe girls, after a tie with Franklin County, a loss to Arnold and a blowout of Freeport, now stand 5-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in district play.

The highlights of the week came over the weekend when Port St. Joe traveled to Freeport on Saturday.

The Lady Tiger Sharks won a “mercy rule” 8-0 victory and the boys cruised to an 8-3 win.

On the girls’ side, freshman Kathleen Rish netted a hat trick (bringing her total on the year to seven) to lead the Lady Tiger Sharks.

Junior midfielder Cailyn LaPlante scored her first high school goal, junior forward Allie Strippling added her third goal of the year, junior midfielder Lexie McGhee her sixth and sophomore forward Loren Costin scored her first of the year.
