Gator grapplers participate in quadrangle meet

Wewahitchka Jr./Sr. High School participated in a quadrangle wrestling meet against three Bay County schools.

The format provides not only three separate dual meets for each team, but is an easier way to give inexperienced wrestlers mat time.

Coaches can better match up their athletes by ability — and weight — whereas in a tournament a first-year wrestler could be going up against a potential state champion.

Springfield Rutherford hosted a meet against Arnold, Bay and Wewahitchka last Tuesday.

Bay was 2-1, Wewahitchka 1-2, and an Arnold squad that left some of its top wrestlers at home was 0-3.
