On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative presented Wewahitchka Jr./Sr. High School with a $2,500 donation to help fund three of its athletic programs.

Gulf County Superintendent Jim Norton along with Principal Lori Price, Athletic Director Dennis Kizziah, baseball coach Tony Muina; softball coach Kendra McDaniel and basketball coach Stuart Vines, graciously accepted the check from Michael White.

It is difficult for a small community to raise the necessary funds to support its athletic programs. Through this generous donation, the boys’ basketball program was able to purchase new uniforms for this season and both the baseball and softball programs will be able to purchase some much-needed new equipment for their upcoming spring seasons.

Michael White, President of Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative, has always been a valued supporter of WHS and was a big contributor to the new scoreboard at Gator Field last fall. He understands the complexity in continuing to raise the funds needed to support all the programs in a small rural area. He is very proud to be able to contribute the needs of the school and student athletes.
