The Wewahitchka Jr./Sr. High School softball team has split four games over the previous weeks.
The Lady Gators beat Cottondale 2-0; lost to Sneads 9-1; lost to Franklin County 10-1; and beat Sneads in a rematch 3-0.
Against Cottondale, Brianna Bailey pitched seven innings allowing two hits while striking out five and walking no one.
Tara Walding was 2 for 3, Naomi Parker reached base twice on walks, Sam Hoover walked and had a sacrifice fly, Ashleigh Price walked and Ireland Hamm had a single in three trips to the plate.
Parker pitched five innings in the loss to Sneads, striking out three and walking one. Bailey came on to pitch the final two innings.
Jessica Smith, Bailey, Parker, Mariah Brown and Alyssa Bass each had a hit, Bass driving the Lady Gators’ sole run. Parker, Brown and Smith also reached base on walks.
Price started on the mound against Franklin County, but gave way to Bailey after one inning. Bailey pitched through three innings and Parker came on to throw the final three innings.
Brown, Price and Walding each had a hit and Parker reached twice on walks.
Bailey was on the mound throwing a complete game five-hitter in the win at Sneads. Of the five hits, two came courtesy of fielding miscues by the Lady Gators.
Smith was 2 for 4 and Walding were each 2 for 4 at the plate. Price and Brown each had a hit and a sacrifice bunt and Bass and Parker each had one hit. Parker also reached twice on walks.
Wewahitchka hosts Ponce de Leon tonight, is at Port St. Joe on Tuesday and host Blountstown next Thursday.
