Home field was no solution for the Wewahitchka Jr./Sr. High School softball team last week.
As a result the Lady Gators will hit the road for the Region 1-1A playoffs.
Wewahitchka, which entered the tournament as the top seed, lost 7-1 to visiting Sneads in the District 2-1A title game last Friday.
The Lady Gators, as district runner-up, will be on the road Tuesday at Ponce de Leon for the region quarterfinals.
It was a disappointing end to the tournament, which Wewahitchka hosted.
The Lady Gators opened the tournament with a 12-0 rout of Altha.
Brianna Bailey paced the Lady Gators, tossing five innings of no-hit ball while striking out 10 of the 19 batters she faced in the game shortened under the mercy rule.
Bailey also helped her cause with an RBI.
Tara Walding was 3 for 3, hit two home runs and drove in four to the lead the Lady Gator attack.
Ashleigh Price was 2 for 3 with a triple and scored a run, Cecily Hale added a hit and scored a run.
Shamario Cole had a hit and scored twice, Naomi Parker scored once and Jade McLemore scored twice. Mariah Brown had one hit, scored once and drove in two and Brinkmeier was 2 for 3, drove in one and scored twice.
Bailey was again the winner last Wednesday as she pitched a complete-game two-hitter to pace a 2-1 win over Vernon.
Bailey struck out eight and allowed a single earned run in seven innings.
Parker singled in the tying run and Walding won the game with a sacrifice fly.
Hale, Cole and Mariah Brown all had singles.
Sneads beat Blountstown in the other semifinal to set up the title game matchup.
