Lady Gators reach .500

With a 10-0 win over Altha last week the Wewahitchka Jr./Sr. High School softball team improved to 2-2 on the season.

Three pitchers combined on a two-hitter for Wewahitchka, allowing four total baserunners.

Brianna Bailey started on the mound for the Lady Gators and pitched two innings, allowing one hit while striking out two and walking one.

Naomi Parker came on for the next two innings, striking out three, walking one and allowing no hits.

Ashleigh Price pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit while fanning five and walking none.

Bailey was 3 for 4 at the plate, Parker was 2 for 2 with two walks in four plate appearances, Price reached base four times and Jessica Smith was 2 for 3 with a sacrifice fly.

The Lady Gators were at Vernon Tuesday and back home against Vernon tonight.
