Lady Tiger Sharks win three, up record to 9-3

Led by the solid pitching and power hitting the Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School softball team won three straight district games last week to improve to 9-3.

The Lady Tiger Sharks beat Bozeman 10-3 last Tuesday.

MaKayla Ramsey (7-0) started and went the distance on the mound, facing 30 batters and allowing six hits and three runs while walking one and striking out four.

Shannon Pridgeon had two hits, including a run-scoring double and Kelsey Miles had a double and drove in three. Haley Wood had a solo home run and Ramsey, Stephanie Brinkmeier, Brittany King, Christian Laine and Haley Keels each had a hit for Port St. Joe.

Two nights later, the Lady Tiger Sharks faced Blountstown, winning 10-2.

Ramsey started on the mound and went six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while walking three and striking out four.

Brinkmeier pitched a shutout seventh, allowing one hit and striking out one.
