The Tiger Sharks of Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School split a pair of games in the past week.
Port St. Joe fell 7-5 to South Walton and pummeled East Memorial Academy out of Alabama 8-1.
Against South Walton, Port St. Joe was held to just four hits, all singles.
The Tiger Sharks earned six walks and had one batter hit by a pitch.
Bryce Godwin (1-2) was the losing pitcher, allowing six hits and walking two while hitting two batters and striking out five.
The Tiger Sharks dropped to 2-5 in the district as untimely errors again proved their undoing.
Cole Cryderman led the win over EMA, starting on the mound and tossing seven innings of four-hit ball. He walked no one and hit one batter.
Drew Lacour was 3 for 3 with an RBI to lead the Tiger Sharks. Chase Wilder was 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and drove in a run, Godwin was 2 for 2 with a walk and Tyler Worley was 1 for 3 with two RBIs on a fifth-inning double which sparked a Tiger Shark rally.
“Cryderman’s effort on the mound was what the Sharks have been needing,” said Coach Chuck Gannon.
The Tiger Sharks were at Franklin County for a makeup game on Tuesday.
