Starting at free safety as a true sophomore, Calvin Pryor of Port St. Joe is at the top of the defensive charts for the University of Louisville, now 3-0 and ranked No. xx after a wild 39-34 win at home over North Carolina last Saturday.
Pryor is shown above after Louisville opened the season with a decisive 32-14 win over intra-state rival Kentucky. Pryor had a team-high nine tackles and forced two fumbles, one of those coming when he hit a Wildcat ballcarrier with a clear shot at the end zone inside the 10-yard line.
The following week, Pryor had the Cardinals’ first interception of the season as Louisville manhandled Missouri State 35-7.
After three games, Pryor leads Louisville in total tackles with 23, unassisted tackles with 19, has one interception, two forced fumbles, one pass break-up and two passes defended.
Pryor has started every game since the fifth game of his freshman season for Louisville.
