The Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School baseball team dropped a district game to Bozeman last week before rebounding with two wins as the District 4-1A season drew to a close.

Port St. Joe finished its regular season Tuesday night against Altha.

The Tiger Sharks, the fifth seed, will open district tournament play on Monday at Liberty County.

Bozeman, the top seed in the district after finishing the district schedule unbeaten, handed the Tiger Sharks a 7-3 loss last Thursday.

Bryce Godwin started on the mound and was the losing pitcher, tossing five innings before giving way to Will Ramsey who pitched the final two innings.

Cole Cryderman had a pair of singles to lead Port St. Joe at the plate. Ramsey, Austin Clayton and Devon Strickland also had singles and Tyler Worley doubled.

“We had the bases loaded with no outs but could only muster one run,” said Port St. Joe coach Chuck Gannon.
