The following day Port St. Joe traveled to South Walton and came away with a 12-6 victory.

Gannon said his team’s bats “came alive” with 12 hits, three for extra bases.

Tucker Smith, Chase Wilder and Worley each had two hits. Ricky Pennington reached base five times, walking once, singling and being hit by a pitch three times.

Eighth-grader Ethan Sander pitched six “quality” innings, Gannon said, allowing five hits and four earned runs.

The following day, Port St. Joe hosted Tallahassee Godby during Senior Day.

Smith, Worley, Pennington and Clayton, all seniors, contributed in the 7-2 win.

Clayton went the distance on the mound, striking out three and scattering nine hits.
