The Florida/Alabama Challenge last week was just that for the Port St. Joe Jr./Sr. High School softball team.

The Lady Tiger Sharks lost four games over the two-day tournament at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach, losing three games by two or fewer runs.

The Lady Tiger Sharks fell 4-3 to Fort Walton Beach, 9-7 to Milton, 6-1 to Yulee and 8-6 to Monteverde Academy.

Port St. Joe was 2-4 entering the week, which includes the home opener at 5 p.m. (junior varsity) and 7 p.m. Friday.

Against Fort Walton Beach, Stephanie Brinkmeier suffered her first pitching loss of the season, going the distance while allowing four runs on five hits and striking out nine.

Shannon Pridgeon had a triple and Kesley Miles, Brittany King, Callie Fleshren, Hal Leigh Keels, and Addison Rice each added a single.

Against Milton, Brinkmeier was again on the mound, pitching the distance and allowing nine runs on 10 hits while walking three and striking out one.
