GCEC Managers and Supervisors Complete Management Training
SOUTHPORT – Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative’s managers and supervisors recently completed a Principles of Management class, instructed by John Robbins and Shay Catrett of BAYSOLUTIONS.
The managers and supervisors discussed traits of effective leaders and how to motivate team members. They also learned about communicating clearly, including how to prevent misunderstandings and how to provide both positive and negative feedback. Other topics discussed included delegation, adapting, coaching and resolving conflict.
“I really enjoyed the training,” Southport Supervisor of Office Services Debbie Bush said. “John and Shay did a great job of leading the class. Although I have worked with the other managers and supervisors for many years, I learned something new about each of them through our icebreaker, and I was able to bring back useful knowledge to the workplace.”
