Early Voting Is Underway

Want to avoid the lines on Election Day? Early voting is the answer.

Early voting got underway on Monday and will continue through Saturday, Aug. 23.

Hours in Port St. Joe are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. ET and voting takes place at the Supervisor of Elections office at 401 Long Avenue.

In Wewahitchka, hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. CT, with the voting site the Wewahitchka Public Library at 314 N. 2nd Street.

Voters will be able to cast their votes during those hours Monday through Saturday through Aug. 23.

There is no longer any early voting on the Monday, Aug. 25, the day prior to the primary election.
Voters need to have a picture ID with signature to vote in order to avoid having to use a provisional ballot.

A provisional ballot is detailed to fill out and will only be counted after thorough review by the canvassing board to ensure accuracy.

There is plenty on the ballot for everybody, partisan or non-partisan.

"There is something for everybody to vote on regardless of party affiliation or no party affiliation," said Supervisor of Elections Linda Griffin.

All voters will see the races for Property Appraiser and Superintendent of Schools on their ballots, since despite a slate of all Democrats, those two races will be determined in the primary.

Republicans will decide on a general election candidate for the District 3 County Commission race, while Democrats will chose a general election candidate for Sheriff.

Wewahitchka voters will also be determining the Group II city council race.
