Summer Writer's Workshop at FSU-Panama City
Panama City, Fla. - A series of three Writer's Workshops will be held at the Florida State University Panama City campus during June, July and August. The workshops are free and open to the public.
Dr. Milinda Jay Stephenson, who teaches Shakespeare and writing at Florida State University, will be the director of the FSU Panama City Writer's Workshops. Dr. Stephenson is a free-lance writer for both national and international magazines and has taught college writing for over 20 years. Her play, Palmetto Cradle, was funded in part by the Florida Humanities Council. She is currently at work on a novel about her great-grandmother's coming of age in Northwest Florida.
The workshops will be held on the following dates from 5:30 to 7 p.m. CT in Room A301, located on the third floor of the FSU Panama City Holley Academic Center:
June 18 and 25: Writing The Short Story
July 9 and 16: Writing The Novel
August 6 and 13: Writing The Memoir
Participants will have the opportunity to examine their writing alongside published works within a community of readers. The fundamentals of submitting works for publication will be addressed.
