Bernard “Bernie” Pridgeon, III Obituary

Bernard "Bernie" A. Pridgeon, III of Port St. Joe, FL passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 after a sudden illness.  He is survived by his mother, Ann Pridgeon of Port St. Joe, brother Brad, sister-in-law Rebecca, and niece and nephew Julia and Jon Pridgeon, all of Greer, SC; numerous aunts and uncles, most notably Frank Pate and Bobby and Gerry Pate, all of Port St. Joe and many cousins.  Also his special friend Kelly Smith and children Tucker and Hayley of Port St. Joe

He was preceded in death by his father Bernard A. Pridgeon, Jr, and grandparents Bernard A. Pridgeon, Sr and Eula D. Pridgeon.

Bernie was born and raised in Port St. Joe and lived there his whole life.  He enjoyed many hobbies, such as gardening, photography, and astronomy.  He leaves behind many friends and family who will miss him greatly.

A celebration of his life was held at 11 a.m. E.S.T. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Port Saint Joe, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Lentz. 

Interment followed in the family plot in Holly Hill Cemetery.  The family received friends at the church for an hour prior to the service.

The family requests no flowers, but donations may be made in his memory to either Bay Medical Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation in Panama City, or Sacred Heart By The Bay in Port Saint Joe.
