Billy Charles Harris was born on June 28, 1960 in Port St. Joe, Florida to Henry Lee and Pearly Harris, affectionately known as "Charles". Billy Charles grew up in the Holiness Church under the guidance of Bishop Thompson and his mother. Billy Charles attended Washington Elementary, Port St. Joe Elementary, and Port St. Joe High School. He graduated from Port St. Joe High in 1978 and went on Gulf Coast Community College and Florida A&M University majoring in Business Administration.
Billy Charles was preceded in death by his father Henry Lee Harris and a brother, David Langston.
Throughout Billy's life, he was a loving and caring person who loved life, family, and people dearly.
He leaves to mourn and cherish a loving and precious mother Mrs. Pearly Harris; five brothers and one sister: Robert Harris (Ericka) of Houston, Texas, Henry Harris (Lenora) of Port St Joe, Florida, Michael Harris of Port St. Joe, Florida, James Harris of Panama City, Florida, Marion Daniels (Minnie) of Tampa, Florida, and Linda Tschudi (Ken) of Port St Joe, Florida; six aunts: Ruby Freeman of Panama City, Florida, Victoria Freeman of Panama City, Florida, Lucille Johnson (Doug) of Wewahitchka, Florida, Ann Dixon (George) of Panama City, Florida, Johnny Hines of Wewahitchka, Florida and Lillian Russ
(Gus) of Wewahitchka, Florida; one uncle: Ellis Lee of Titusville, Florida; four nephews and nieces: Andre Brown of Tallahassee, Florida, Eric Langston (Lakithia) of Port St. Joe, Florida, McKenzie Harris of Maryland, and Cole Langston of Bronson, Florida; Ericka Donaldson of Houston, Texas, Tawanna (Dennis) Thomas of Panama City, Florida, Raven Harris of Daytona, Florida, and Marilyn Harris of Houston, Texas; a very dear and close cousin Cynthia Grimes; one God-sister Mildred Ann (Walter) Lewis of Port St. Joe, Florida; one God-brother Leslie Charles Hall Jr. of Sacramento, California.
Also cherishing his memories are a host of great nieces, cousins, other relatives and many special friends who have had the pleasure of being in his life.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. ET Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Thompson Temple First Born Church of the Living God, 222 Avenue E Port St. Joe.
All services are under the direction of the Comforter Funeral Home.
