Christmas Ministry

St. Peter’s Anglican Church provides a 30-minute weekly ministry to The Bridge at St. Joe Bay nursing facility, providing gospel and fiddle music with comforting words of scripture to residents at 10 a.m. ET each Saturday morning.  Over the years we have attracted a loyal following. We have become friends with many of the regulars who attend.

As part of this ministry St. Peter’s has also provided Christmas gifts to some of the needy residents of the facility for the past five years. It has become our Christmas project to provide items needed by some of the residents.  This is a whole church project that involves shopping and wrapping items to donate to The Bridge at St. Joe Bay.  This project is a perfect compliment to our weekly program on Saturday mornings.   The Bridge at St. Joe Bay provides the list of items needed and we provide the “Love”.

The churches of Port St. Joe are generous in meeting the needs of its senior citizens and the children of our area.  We are proud to join them in worthwhile projects to express our Christian values.  The Advent season is the beginning of the Christian year.  It is a time of penitence or reflection on the coming of Christ.  Let us not get caught up in the hype to “hurry” the season as pursued by the advertising media to “buy” our way to Christmas.  Let us prepare ourselves spiritually to receive the greatest gift given to mankind.
