John Joseph (Jack) Kerigan, 79, of Mexico Beach, Florida passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Covenant Hospice after a brief illness.
Jack was born January 28, 1933, in New London, CT. He is a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne. He is a graduate of Austin Peay State University with a degree in Chemistry. He operated Kerigan Dental Studio, in Dothan, Al, before moving to Mexico Beach in 1976.
He was preceded in death by parents Bill and Gertrude Kerigan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lynn Ramsey Kerigan, along with four children, Jack Kerigan, Jr. and Steve Kerigan (Kim) of Port St. Joe, FL, Patrick Kerigan of Redondo Beach, CA and Tim Kerigan (Alison) of Smithfield, NC; 16 grandchildren, Jaclyn and Joseph (Jack Jr.), Brett, Alexa and Grayson (Pat), Kathleen, Janel, Steven, Rebecca, Maclain, Jake, Carson, Sophie and Delilah (Steve), Cully and Riley (Tim); two sisters, Claire Melish (Len) of Lynn Haven, FL and Joyce Mulligan (Bill) of Fairfield, CT; and three brothers, Bill Kerigan (Elanor) of Lecanto, FL, Jim Kerigan (Jane) of Fairfield, CT and Joe Kerigan (Paula) of Marshfield, MA.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m EST, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe with Pastor Ted Lovelace officiating. Friends and family were encouraged to attend this Celebration of the life of “Grandpa Jack.”
