Ricky Lynn McMillion departed this life on May 1, 2013 in Panama City, FL at Bay Medical Center. He was the third of four children and birthed to Lauris and Arnold McMillion on August 31, 1959 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Living most of his life in Wewahitchka, he was a devoted husband and an astounding father of three. As an established and well-respected member of the community, Ricky was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He would drop any personal task to provide aid, love and care for family, friends or neighbors.
Without a lick of shyness, Ricky never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone standing at his side. He left behind an everlasting legacy of love and wisdom to all he came in contact with.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lauris Mixon and Arnold McMillion and eldest sister Karen Strickland.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Janet McMillion; son Derrick and wife Crystal McMillion; son Damon McMillion; daughter Delaney McMillion; granddaughter Harley Boyatt; older sister Phyllis Cox; younger brother Arnie McMillion; stepfather Elvin Mixon who all reside in Wewahitchka; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Ricky will be remembered by all the love he shared throughout his life and the kindness within his tender heart. Although he is gone from this Earth, he will never leave out hearts.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. CT Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 138 East Orange Avenue in Wewahitchka, FL with Pastor Derek Gerber and Pastor Joey Smith officiating. Interment followed at Buckhorn Cemetery. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. CT on Friday, May 3, 213 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Wewahitchka.
